Three suspicious fires in Akron | News
AKRON, OH (WOIO)- Fire officials in Akron, Ohio are investigating three suspicious fires this weekend.
All three blazes broke out between midnight and 5 a.m. Saturday.
There were no injuries reported in any of the incidents, which remain under investigation this weekend and are considered to be suspicious.
According to the Akron Fire Department, the first fire was reported shortly before 2:30 a.m. at Mason Elementary School, located at 366 Beaver Street. Firefighters arrived on scene and spotted smoke and fire coming from the school's auditorium located on the first level of the building, which is no longer in use.
The school is set to be demolished on Monday, July 16 according to the Akron Fire Department.
The second fire broke out at 643 S. Hawkins around 3:30 a.m. The home was fully involved when firefighters arrived on scene.
The third and final blaze was reported around 4:30 a.m. at 514 Allyn Street in the home's attic. Again, there were no injuries reported and the fire remains under investigation.
