Man accused of fatally shooting hospitalized wife asks judge pointed question
News

AKRON, OH (WOIO)- The 66-year-old Massillon man accused of fatally shooting his wife inside Akron General Hospital went before a judge Tuesday morning.

The judge set bond at $1M for John Wise.

Wise then asked the judge a question on the charge of attempted murder, "Is she not dead?"

The judge didn't answer Wise's question, and only said he will be given an attorney.

Wise is accused of shooting his wife, Barbara, around 9 p.m. Saturday night. Barbara was hospitalized with a life-threatening illness when she was shot in the head. She died on Monday.

The Summit County Medical Examiner has since ruled her death a homicide.
