Akron Zoo offers kids a chance at a one-day zoo career | News

AKRON, Ohio – The Akron Zoo is offering local students in grades 5 – 12 a chance to be a zoo professional for a day. Zoorific Career Days will be offered 11 different days and runs from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Participants will be able to spend time with keepers, animal trainers and education staff to learn about what it is like to work at a zoo.

Zoorific Career Days will be offered March 19, 21, 26, 28, April 2, 4, 9 and 11 for students in grades 7-12. The program will also be offered March 27, April 16 & 18 for kids in grades 5-6. Students will have an opportunity to go behind-the-scenes, watch animal training sessions, feed the penguins and more.

Registration is required and the cost of the program, which includes lunch at the Zoo, is $35 per student for Akron Zoo Members and $40 per student for non-Akron Zoo Members.
